Holley Model 4000 Carburetor Manual - Form C228

<=Return to the Carburetor Manuals index

This manual covers the Model 4000 "Teapot" carburetor used on Ford, Lincoln and Mercury models in the early to mid-50's. This is one of the tougher carbs to restore properly. In its day it was known for causing fires, probably after being rebuilt incorrectly.

This model was replaced later in that decade by the (equally?) idiosyncratic modular four barrel carburetors, which are still being manufactured today.

You may also wish to consult Form C228-1, which is from October of 1956, and is a supplement to Form C228.
